Strasbourg, July 11, 2024 – Scalingo, the French cloud hosting platform (PaaS), announces a €3.5 million Series A funding round from prominent French investors including Side Angels, CAJUBA investor community, NEO Founders, and BPI France, Caisse d’Epargne, and BNP Paribas.
This funding will fuel Scalingo’s technological development, focusing on cybersecurity enhancements and handling large data volumes crucial for AI projects. To support this growth, Scalingo plans to expand its team with fifteen new hires this year.
Founded in 2015, Scalingo offers a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) designed for developers seeking a sovereign, high-performance, secure, and user-friendly alternative to American cloud platforms. Scalingo’s PaaS streamlines application development by managing underlying technical tasks such as server maintenance.
In a French market dominated by AWS, Microsoft, and Google (holding over 70% market share), Scalingo meets the core needs of French and European organizations:
Scalingo currently supports over 35,000 developers and 1,000 clients, including notable organizations like the French Ministry of the Interior, ENGIE, Île-de-France Mobilités, Pix, Yespark, and Alira Health.
The funding round, led by key French investors, aims to double Scalingo’s workforce to 70 employees by 2026, enhancing platform visibility through strategic hires in sales, marketing, and communications.
The funding will bolster Scalingo’s technological offerings in two key areas:
> « Security-focused PaaS » : aContinuous advancements in cybersecurity features like Identity and Access Management (IAM), and commitment to SecNumCloud qualification for added client confidence.
> « Data-centric PaaS » : Introducing new managed database services with enhanced replication and processing options, streamlining data management and utilization for AI projects.
Private equity investments led by Guillaume Nominé in collaboration with SideAngels, CAJUBA, and NEO Founders, alongside non-dilutive investments from BPI France, Caisse d’Épargne, and BNP Paribas, underscore Scalingo’s strategic expansion goals.
